11 More Children Die from Measles and Related Symptoms, Total Death Toll Reaches 488

At least 11 more children have died from measles and measles-related complications across the country in the last 24 hours. Among them, nine died with measles symptoms while two deaths were confirmed as measles cases.

With the latest fatalities, the total number of deaths linked to measles and its symptoms has risen to 488.

According to a report released by the Directorate General of Health Services on Friday (May 22), 1,261 new measles patients were recorded during the same period.

Meanwhile, since March 15, a total of 60,540 people have shown measles-related symptoms nationwide. During this period, measles infection has been confirmed in 8,329 children.
