Terrorist Safe Havens Will Be Eliminated and Their Audacity Answered: Home Minister

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said that terrorist safe havens in the Jangal Salimpur area of Sitakunda in Chattogram will be dismantled and that the government will respond firmly to such acts of audacity.

The minister made the remarks on Tuesday afternoon (May 26) after visiting the control room at the Police Headquarters.

He said that although one or two isolated incidents had occurred along the border, no situation had emerged that could destabilize the country. He added that the government’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and extortion remains in force.

The minister also warned that any police member found involved in drug trafficking or assisting drug dealers would be dismissed from service.
