The United States launched fresh strikes on Iran on Tuesday night (September 1), killing several people and injuring more than 50, according to Iran’s Health Ministry. A child was among those killed.
In retaliation, Iran claimed to have launched missile and drone attacks on US military positions in Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait and Bahrain. The IRGC said US facilities at Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan and Erbil in Iraq were targeted. The US, however, denied reports of casualties and damage in Jordan.
Jordan’s military said 13 ballistic missiles launched from Iran entered its airspace, with 10 intercepted. The remaining three fell away from populated areas, causing no casualties.
Kuwait and Bahrain also reported Iranian drone attacks. At the same time, Iranian state media said US strikes targeted several cities, ports and a civilian airport in Iran.
