Iran has rejected the US claim of taking control of the strategically important Strait of Hormuz and said it has laid additional naval mines in the southern part of the waterway.
In a statement on X on Thursday (September 3), Ibrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said more naval mines were placed along unauthorized routes in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz during an overnight operation.
Referring to maps and images released by the Trump administration portraying the waterway as US territory, Zolfaghari mocked the move, saying CENTCOM could only use “Photoshop” to change the name of the strait.
He sarcastically added that from now on, oil tankers could also be made to pass through the strait using Photoshop.
