A Hajj flight was stranded on the runway at Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport due to a mechanical issue, causing the suspension of flight take-off and landing operations for nearly two hours.
The incident occurred around 9:30 AM on Saturday when Bangladesh Biman flight BG-138 from Madinah landed and got stuck at the end of runway-23. The flight was carrying 378 Hajj pilgrims.
According to airport authorities, the aircraft was safely removed from the runway at 11:20 AM after resolving the issue, and normal runway operations resumed.
Biman’s GSE team used a special push cart to fix the front wheel, after which the engine was started and the plane was taken to the apron.
