DB chief removed

Additional Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallick has been removed from the post of Intelligence Division (DB) chief. This information was confirmed in a notification signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali on Sunday (April 13).
Recently, Miss Earth Bangladesh winner model Meghna Alam was arrested from her home in Dhaka by the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police on April 7. On the night of April 10, the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka issued a 30-day detention order against her under the Special Powers Act of 1974. DB faced criticism for Meghla's detention. Then on April 11, the agency issued an explanation for Meghla's detention from DMP.
