He made these remarks at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the 'Sampriti Bhaban' of the International Buddhist Monastery in Merul Badda, Dhaka on Sunday (April 13) morning.
Expressing his desire to build a country free from non-violence, harmony, love for people, and hatred, Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman said, "We want to live here together beautifully. We are always working towards this goal." The army chief said, "We have always been very closely involved with all communities of this country, regardless of religion, caste, and tribe. We live together. Bangladesh is a country of harmony." We have been living in peace in this country for thousands of years, regardless of religion, caste, or tribe. Today's event is a reflection of that. He said, "This country belongs to Hindus, Buddhists, Christians and Muslims. We want to live in harmony."
