Bangladesh–US Second Round Tariff Talks Start Today

Dhaka, July 9: The United States Trade Representative (USTR) has invited Bangladesh to participate in the second round of negotiations on the bilateral tariff agreement, scheduled from July 9 to 11. Following President Trump's letter to the leaders of 14 countries on July 7, Bangladesh is among the nations returning to the negotiation table.
Bangladesh’s Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashiruddin is leading the delegation in person in Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, National Security Adviser Dr. Khalilur Rahman will join the talks virtually from Dhaka. Senior officials, including the Commerce Secretary and an Additional Commerce Secretary, have also arrived in Washington to participate in the discussions.
Bangladesh hopes to finalize the agreement quickly, building on the progress made during the first round of talks.
