Messi scores twice for fifth straight match

Even at 38, Lionel Messi continues to dominate the pitch. The Argentine superstar made history by scoring two goals in five consecutive MLS matches for Inter Miami. On Sunday, his brace helped Miami secure a 2-1 win over Nashville. He netted the first goal in the 17th minute with a low free-kick and added the second in the 62nd minute after a goalkeeper error.

This performance takes Messi's goal tally to 15 in the current MLS season, along with 6 assists—meaning he has directly contributed to 21 goals. Since joining Miami, he has scored 55 goals for the club. Across his club and international career, Messi now has 872 goals.

Nashville’s Hany Mukhtar scored once, but Miami held on to win and move up to fifth place in the Eastern Conference with 38 points from 19 matches. Conference leader Philadelphia has 43 points from 22 games.
