This month (April), BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia is returning home from London with Tarique Rahman's wife Zobaida Rahman and Syeda Shamila Rahman, wife of Khaleda Zia's late younger son Arafat Rahman Koko.
Former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment at her eldest son Tarique Rahman's home in the UK, is undergoing a full health check-up. Preparations are underway to bring her back to the country in a special air ambulance from Qatar.
Last week, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir wrote a letter to the interim government's foreign affairs advisor Md. Touhid Hossain to arrange for a special air ambulance from Qatar to bring Khaleda Zia back home from London.In light of the letter, the government is preparing to repatriate the former prime minister through the Bangladesh High Commissions in London and Doha. If all goes well, Khaleda Zia is scheduled to return home by next Wednesday (April 30).
