The Bangladesh government has not signed any agreement on a humanitarian corridor under the auspices of the United Nations, said National Security Advisor and Principal Advisor to the High Representative for Rohingya Affairs Dr. Khalilur Rahman.
He made this statement while delivering a speech at a seminar titled "Repatriation of Rohingyas sheltering in Bangladesh: Impact on Regional Security and Future" at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) on Sunday (May 4).The security advisor said, the government has not signed any agreement on the humanitarian corridor. Only initial discussions have been held on it. Rumors are being spread by some neighboring countries' media that Bangladesh is starting a proxy war in Arakan on behalf of America, which is never desirable.
Khalilur Rahman said that the Rohingya will never be given Bangladeshi citizenship. If that is done, Bangladesh will become a dumping ground for neighboring countries.
