Accused in Motivated Cases to Be Cleared in Phases: Home Minister

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has stated that individuals named in politically motivated cases filed after August 5 2024 will be gradually cleared of charges.

Speaking on Wednesday following the Deputy Commissioners Conference the minister said authorities have already requested case lists from district administrations. The government aims to remove the names of innocent individuals from these cases within one month.

He also noted that steps are being taken to withdraw politically driven cases filed during the tenure of the Awami League government through coordination between the Home Ministry and the Ministry of Law.

The announcement signals a broader effort to address concerns over misuse of legal processes and ensure justice for those wrongfully accused.
