Government Wants Faster Settlement Of Land Disputes: Prime Minister

The government wants to ensure the quick settlement of land related disputes on a priority basis. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said alternative legal mechanisms including village courts and dispute resolution systems outside conventional laws should be used to address such cases lawfully.

He made the remarks on Tuesday May 19 after inaugurating a three day land service fair in Dhaka.

The Prime Minister said the government wants to remain accountable to people not only over land related issues but also regarding every public friendly initiative. He added that there are plans to gradually establish land service assistance centers in every union across the country.

At the same time the government has launched a mobile application named Bhumi to bring land services directly to citizens’ fingertips.
