Pakistan has issued a high alert in the border states of Rajasthan and Punjab. All leaves of police personnel there have been canceled. In addition to imposing a ban on public gatherings, the administrations of the two states are making maximum preparations to handle any possible situation.
Indian media outlet NDTV reported this information in a report on Thursday (May 8).The media outlet says that Rajasthan has a 1,037-km border with Pakistan and that border has been completely sealed. The Border Security Force (BSF) deployed on the border has been instructed to open fire if it sees anything suspicious.
The Indian Air Force is also on high alert. All flights at Jodhpur, Kishangarh and Bikaner airports have been suspended till May 9. Fighter jets are patrolling the airspace. Missile defense systems have reportedly been activated.Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jets are patrolling from Ganganagar to the Rann of Kutch.Schools have been closed and ongoing examinations have been postponed in Bikaner, Sriganganagar, Jaisalmer and Barmer districts. Leave of police and railway employees has been cancelled. Alert has been raised in border villages and preparations are being made for evacuation of people in case of emergency.
Anti-drone systems have also been activated near the border, NDTV reported. Blackout orders have been issued in Jaisalmer and Jodhpur from midnight to 4 am.Blackouts primarily create problems for sophisticated high-speed fighter aircraft, making it difficult for pilots to attack specific targets.A similar alert has also been issued in Punjab. All leave of police personnel in the state has been cancelled and public gatherings have been banned.
