The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Brig. Gen. Ahmad Vahidi, has vowed retaliation over the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, declaring that those responsible “will never know peace.”
In a statement, Vahidi said the “criminal leaders of the United States” and all enemies of Iran’s Islamic Revolution and the so-called “Axis of Resistance” should know that assassinating Iran’s leader “will not allow them to live in peace.”

He added that the assassination “will never be erased from history” and that those responsible would receive an “appropriate response at the right time.”
Vahidi also said Iran would pursue “full justice” and respond against those he accused of responsibility, particularly the U.S. military.
Earlier, on Thursday (July 9), Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was buried in his hometown of Mashhad.
