Security conditions have deteriorated in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important trade routes, due to an increase in deadly attacks. Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera reported the development on Wednesday, citing data from shipping intelligence monitor Kpler.

According to Kpler’s data, vessel movement through the Strait of Hormuz increased slightly on Tuesday. A total of 21 monitored transits were recorded, involving commercial vessels mainly carrying crude oil, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), methanol, and iron ore. However, recent attacks have raised concerns over the security of this crucial maritime route.
