China Reaffirms Support for Bangladesh on Rohingya Crisis, Trade Expansion

China has expressed its interest in expanding cooperation with Bangladesh in trade, investment, technology, and infrastructure development, while reaffirming its support for the peaceful resolution of the Rohingya crisis.
Speaking at a discussion titled "Long Live Bangladesh-China Friendship" in Dhaka on Saturday (July 18), the Local Government Minister said Bangladesh-China relations are historic and have grown stronger over the years. He highlighted the importance of deepening cooperation in education, business, technology, and political engagement.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Jahir Uddin Swapan emphasized the need to strengthen trade and exports, improve China-Myanmar-Bangladesh road connectivity, and enhance China's role in resolving the Rohingya crisis.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen said China is keen to increase business, trade, and investment with Bangladesh and reiterated Beijing’s commitment to supporting a peaceful solution to the Rohingya issue. The event was chaired by Bangladesh-China Friendship Association President Nazmul Haque Nannu and attended by State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, among others.
