Bodies of 10 Climbers, Including Renowned Mountaineer Nirmal Purja, Recovered from Broad Peak 

The bodies of 10 climbers, including world-renowned Nepali-British mountaineer Nirmal Purja, have been recovered by Pakistani rescue teams after a devastating avalanche on Broad Peak, the world's 12th-highest mountain. Source: ACP.

On Sunday, rescue teams spotted the body of Nirmal Purja along with three other bodies at an altitude of approximately 5,700 meters in Pakistan's Karakoram Range. Earlier, on Saturday, Purja's company, Elite Expeditions, and the Alpine Club confirmed that all 10 members of the expedition team, who had been missing since Thursday afternoon following the avalanche, had died.  Among the victims identified were Nirmal Purja (UK), Mallory Geys (United States), Nadhira Ahmed Abdullah Al Harthi (Oman), and Pur Bahadur Gurung (Nepal).  Tributes have poured in following the tragedy.

 UK Defence Secretary Wes Streeting and Nepal's Prime Minister Balendra Shah expressed their deep sorrow and paid tribute to the late mountaineer.
