Brazilian football star Neymar Jr. has once again spoken about his future career, saying he has not yet made any final decision about whether he will continue playing beyond his current contract with Santos or retire from professional football.

Neymar has confirmed that he will remain with Santos until December. However, the 33-year-old forward is still unsure whether he will continue playing in 2027 or bring an end to his football career.

Speaking to reporters at the sixth annual auction event of his charitable foundation, Instituto Neymar Jr., on Monday, Neymar said he is not thinking about retirement right now but will carefully consider his next move after his contract expires in December.

“I don’t know how long I will continue playing. I am not thinking about stopping now, but I also don’t know how long I will be able to continue. I have a contract with Santos until December, and I want to complete it while respecting the club,” Neymar said.

He added, “After that, I will think about whether I will stay at Santos, move somewhere else, or stop playing football. Honestly, I still don’t know what I will do. December is still a long way away.”

Santos will face Remo in the second leg of the Copa do Brasil on Wednesday. The club’s main squad left for Belem on Monday ahead of the important match, but Neymar could not travel with the team due to his charity event.

However, the Brazilian forward confirmed that he will fly to the northern region on Tuesday in his private jet and be fully prepared for the match.

Expressing confidence about his fitness, Neymar said, “Physically, I feel very good. I am getting closer to my best form day by day. Tomorrow’s match is extremely important for us.”

Beyond his achievements on the football pitch, Neymar considers his social welfare foundation one of the biggest accomplishments of his life. Speaking emotionally about the institute, he said, “I do what I love from the heart. Building this institute is the biggest goal of my career.”
