  1. Iran has said that Pakistan is the primary mediator in its indirect communications and negotiations with the United States, while China is also assisting the process. Qatar provides support whenever necessary.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said that diplomatic activity in the Middle East has intensified recently after U.S. President Donald Trump suspended a planned attack on Iran and sought to resume negotiations.

These efforts are aimed at reducing tensions over Iran's nuclear program and the Strait of Hormuz, with Pakistan playing a key mediating role. In recent days, senior Pakistani officials have held multiple contacts with Iranian leaders as well as leaders of the Gulf states.

Over the past several months, Iran has repeatedly acknowledged Pakistan's role in conveying proposals and messages during indirect diplomatic exchanges between Tehran and Washington. Qatar and Oman have also played important roles in discussions concerning regional security and the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway through which nearly 20 percent of the world's oil is transported.

According to Arab News, when asked about reports that China was acting as a mediator between Tehran and Washington, Esmail Baghaei said, "Pakistan is the mediator in the talks related to Iran and the United States."

He added that Iran enjoys very friendly relations with China, and close cooperation between the two countries continues across various sectors. Beijing also shares Tehran's concerns regarding regional instability.

Baghaei further said that China, like many other countries, is providing assistance. However, he noted that it would not be accurate to describe China as a new mediator in the negotiations.
