Seven Explosions in 20 Minutes in Dubai, Thick Black Smoke Covers Jebel Ali Area  Report:  At least seven explosions occurred within a span of just 20 minutes in Dubai’s southern Jebel Ali industrial area and port region of the United Arab Emirates. Following the blasts early Wednesday (August 5), thick black smoke was seen covering the area. However, UAE authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the explosions.  Iran’s semi-official Mehr News Agency reported the incident. According to Arab media reports, two people have been detained for allegedly recording videos of the fire at the site.  Different accounts have emerged regarding the nature of the incident. Some Iraqi media outlets claimed that the explosions were caused by missile strikes launched from Yemen. However, UAE media outlets have not published any official explanation so far, though they confirmed reports of multiple explosions.  Thermal images released by NASA also showed signs of fire at a warehouse near Jebel Ali Port. The facility is reportedly used for fuel storage and transfer operations.  At the same time, explosions were also reportedly heard in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a. Some sources described the sounds as airstrikes, while others suggested they could have been linked to missile launches from Yemeni territory.  No reliable information regarding casualties or the extent of damage has been reported so far.
