Trump Has Lost the War with Iran: Chris Murphy

U.S. Democratic Senator Chris Murphy has said that President Donald Trump has lost the war with Iran. Murphy claimed that the longer the war continues, the weaker the United States becomes, while Iran grows stronger.

He said Trump would support even a bad deal, if necessary, to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Expressing concern over reopening the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. senator said that the cost of reopening the vital waterway is increasing day by day as talks to end the war remain stalled.

Murphy said the war must end. “Every day the war continues, the United States will become weaker and Iran will become stronger,” he said. He added that the American people would suffer as the prices of essential goods continue to rise.

Murphy also said he would oppose any new funding for continuing the war. However, he said he would support funding to replenish U.S. military weapons and ammunition stockpiles after the war ends. Source: Anadolu Agency
