Seven killed in clashes aboard US aircraft carrier

At least seven US Navy personnel have reportedly been killed in a violent clash aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, an American aircraft carrier involved in the conflict with Iran. Several others were reportedly injured in the confrontation.

Iranian semi-official Mehr News reported the incident on Wednesday, citing the prolonged deployment of the carrier in the Middle East and growing dissatisfaction among its crew.

According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, tensions escalated after an adviser to US Central Command chief Brad Cooper arrived aboard the carrier to address complaints related to the prolonged deployment. During his address, some sailors reportedly shouted slogans and threw water bottles at him.

The confrontation allegedly later turned into physical fighting involving knives and other sharp objects, leaving seven sailors dead and several others injured.

Tasnim reported that the situation aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln remains tense and unstable.

The carrier has reportedly been deployed in the region for 263 days since the conflict between the United States and Iran began. It is currently operating in the Indian Ocean as part of US naval operations against Iran.
