Bangladesh Script Historic Test Victory on Australian Soil

Bangladesh have created history by defeating Australia by nine wickets in the Darwin Test. The victory marks Bangladesh’s first-ever Test win over Australia on Australian soil. Opener Tanzid Hasan and fast bowler Hasan Mahmud were among the key performers for the Tigers.

After Australia were bowled out for 198 in the first innings, Bangladesh responded with a commanding 426. The hosts then managed 284 in their second innings, setting Bangladesh a target of just 57 runs. Bangladesh comfortably chased down the target, losing only one wicket.

Cameron Green was Australia’s top scorer in the second innings with a fighting 104. However, his century was not enough to prevent Australia from slipping to defeat. Hasan Mahmud dismissed Green to deliver a crucial breakthrough. After taking six wickets in the first innings, Hasan claimed three more in the second innings to finish the match with nine wickets.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz also played a major role with the ball. The off-spinner claimed five wickets in the second innings, dismantling Australia’s lower order. He completed the innings by trapping Nathan Lyon lbw.

With this remarkable victory, Bangladesh have written a new chapter in their Test cricket history by defeating Australia on their own soil.
