At least 18 US service members have been killed and 757 wounded since the war with Iran began, according to the US Department of Defense, the Pentagon.
The Pentagon updated its Defense Casualty Analysis System on Wednesday (August 19), adding records of more than 50 newly reported wounded service members.
Combined figures from the “Overseas Operations” and “Operation Epic Fury” categories show that the casualties occurred since the US-led war against Iran began on February 28.
Last month, four deaths and several dozen wounded service members had reportedly disappeared from the Pentagon’s casualty database. The missing figures have now been restored in the latest update.
However, the Pentagon has not provided details on the specific conflicts linked to the casualties recorded under the “Overseas Operations” category.
