The International Crimes Tribunal has concluded its hearing on the framing of charges of crimes against humanity against three people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was ousted in the July coup. The International Crimes Tribunal has set Thursday, July 10, as the date for its order.
The hearing was held on Monday at the three-member International Crimes Tribunal-1, headed by Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder. The other two accused are former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun.Among them, only former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun was arrested in the case. The defendants did not have their own appointed lawyers. A state-appointed lawyer represented them in the hearing.
The International Crimes Tribunal-1 took formal charges against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on June 1 for crimes against humanity committed during the July uprising.
The prosecution brought five charges of crimes against humanity in a formal complaint against Sheikh Hasina, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, who are accused in this case.
