Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described Israel as the United States' closest ally, saying the two countries remain united by shared strategic interests despite occasional differences.
Speaking to Fox News in an interview aired on Sunday (July 5), Netanyahu said his relationship with U.S. President Donald Trump is "excellent" and that they agree on nearly all major issues, with any disagreements discussed openly.
Netanyahu said both countries share the goal of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, calling for Tehran to abandon its nuclear program, remove its enriched uranium and dismantle its enrichment facilities.

He also claimed that many people in Lebanon want to free their country from Hezbollah's influence.
Commenting on anti-Israel protests in Western countries, Netanyahu argued that hostility toward Israel often extends to the United States, claiming demonstrators have burned both Israeli and American flags.
Netanyahu further alleged that chants at the funeral of Iran's former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei included calls for the death of America and President Trump.
